Congratulations Alaska!

On November 4th 2014 The state of Alaska joined the group of forward thinking predecessor states (Colorado and Washington) to legalize the use of marijuana for people ages 21 and over. Alaskas law would tax and regulate the production, sale and use of marijuana.

Alaskas vote passed with a slight majority with about 52 percent of the vote in favor. The new initiative will allow adults 21 and over to have up to one ounce of marijuana and six plants, with the production and sales regulated by a state commission. Although the new law will not go into effect until 90 days after the election has been certified, Alaska will then have 18 months to implement particular regulations.

Congratulations to Alaska! Between Washington State, Oregon, Colorado and Washington DC it is nice to see that we are that much closer to a national legalization!
